Project PART 1:
ANALYSING THROUGH THE EYES OF AN
ARCHITECT / URBAN DESIGNER / THEORETICIAN
This project required us to first select an area within Malaysia and interpret the planning through the eyes of an architect, urban designer or theoretician. The first part included a group component to propose out chosen site and architect. In our case, we chose to study Putrajaya through the eyes of Jane Jacobs. The sceond part required us to individually produce graphics and written texts, to interpret a specific location within our chosen site in terms of one of the theories proposed by Jane Jacobs. Through this assignment, I was able to analyze urban forms in relation to the theories proposed by Jane Jacobs.
This module aims to engage us with the relevant theories that has shaped cities and experiences based on architecture. It also aims to provide us with acritical perspective of key issues within contempirary architecture, through case studies and theoretical studies. Finally, it aims to enhance our understanding of the complexity of architecture and undertake independant research. Through this module, I am now able to describe the basic theories of architects and urbanists through architectural studies. I am also able to analyze and critique the relationship of social, cultural, and intellectual context. I am also able to produce, orally and in writing, my critical interpretation of architecture and urbanism in relation to the theories presented.

THEORIES OF ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM
Project PART 2:
ANALYSING AND THEORIZING ARCHITECTURE
This project required us to focus on architectural languages, hoth physically and intellectually. Using a building within our specific site, we were to study the external factors that affect the architecture of the building in terms with our chosen theoretician. We were to come up with analysis diagrams on an A3 board and a 2000 word essay to complement these boards. Through this assignment, I was able to analyze and critique the architecture of a building in relation to the theories proposed by Jane Jacobs and produce a graphic interpretation of my findings as well as an in depth report.

SYNOPSIS
This tutorial assignment was certainly an interesting one as it involved critical thinking and application of our views on architecture and urban planning. For 4 tutorial sessions, we were provided reading materials to analyze and present our views on the excerpts. We were then required to fill up a form with some questions in regards to the excerpts. This synopsis assignment opened my eyes to the different viewpoints people have on a certain topic. It also allowed me to be confident in my opinions and thoughts on architecture and urbanism. Besides that, it opened my eyes to the thought processes of these architects and urban planners in which I adapted into my studio designs.
