Project 1:
GREEN INFO-SHELTER
[ Exploring The Environmental Poetics ]

In a pair, we were required to investigate a given site which was in Taylor's University and record as well as analyse the site context and the natural environment through photographs and diagrams. Through the site analysis, we were then required to identify the user needs and brainstorm ideas for the shelter. The restrictions that were given are that the shelter should be of a volume of 3m X 3m X 3m and should provide infor on events and activites in CODA and SABD. It was to house a maximum of 5 people and minimal areas for storage and services. Through this assignment, I am able to work with others and identify their strengths and weaknesses as well as my own. I am also able to identify and analyze the environmental qualities and contextual needs of a site as well as apply environmentally sustainable ideas. FInally, I am able to employ and extort an interesting material and construction techniques.

This module aims to introduce us to the clustered organization of an architectural form or space in site planning. Besides that, it aims for us to focus on community and social needs of a context as well as raise a sense of environmental consciousness. An integration of plan to section is also one of the objectives in our architectural design. Finally, an exploration of current technology in architectural resolution is also one of the aims. Through this module, I am now able to identify the environmental qualities and contextual needs of a site as well as apply environmental sustainability in my design. I am no able to consider the environmental poetics of architectural spaces in relation to the natural context and existing built environments. Finally, I am able to produce both 2D and 3D drawings, in order to communicated and visualize the design and ideas.
